TAGUM CHURCH IN DAVAO, renovated, venue of meetings, teaching center

The District Apostle met with the Philippine Apostles and the Bishops from Mindanao at our newly renovated Tagum Central Church, October 7-9. Besides an extensive 2 day Youth Program, the Board of Education had sessions on Sunday School strategy. Bishop Yang and Pr Kim from Korea and Ev. Gobi from Malaysia were our special guests. The Tagum church was not only renovated but also a new concept was introduced. The auditorium for church services is now smaller to give room to a spacious multipurpose room for Sunday School and Seminar meetings. In addition 3 classrooms have been added to the compound. DEv. Darwin Nuyad and his wife are professional teachers and we plan to expand into a new teaching program not only benefiting the church members but also the public. To commemorate the new teaching center the Divine Service for the youth was then on Sunday morning about 2. Timothy 3:14 “you must continue in the things you have learned….” The District Apostle elaborated on spiritual learning which creates conviction about eternal life. Jesus said “learn of me” and continuing in what we have learned of him, such as prayer, experiencing His word, understanding God’s plan of salvation, loving each other and much more give the assurance we all need in troubled times and our life’s situation.

Thanksgiving Day was also this year a great and joyful event in all congregations throughout the nation, 2 October 2011

At Makati Church even the Sunday School children had their own Thanksgiving decorations. The Divine Service was based on the word from Psalm 107:8-9. The picture of the psalmist that a group of travelers got lost in the wilderness was compared to our own life’s journey through the wilderness of life going through many unfortunate situations suffering spiritual hunger and thirst. Whether it is natural need or spiritual longing, the Lord hears the cry for help and we all are prompted to give thanks. Necessities of life, food, drink and lodging but also God’s blessing, help and angel protection, the joy He grants at His altar. Let us always be thankful. A thankful people is a happy people.

Ozamis hosted East Mindanao Youth Day, 30-31 July 2011

The youth from the eastern part of Ap. Desoloc’s area were invited to a 2 days Youth Camp in Ozamis. 255 enjoyed singing, playing, dancing and music filled until late Saturday night The District Apostle with the Apostles joined the youth for fellowship and an open forum. Sunday morning the divine service was under the theme “I might put you to the test whether you are obedient in all things” (2. Corrinthians 2:9) Obedience refers to faith and faith has goals, one in our life today which is peace, joy and blessing but then also the ultimate goal the coming of Christ. We attain these goals by proving ourselves in God Fear, trust in the Lord and our Love towards him. The bible records many godly tests, yet many failed. Abraham who already has proven himself was tested once more, when the sacrifice of his son was required which the Lord then however did not permit to happen.

Before joining the Youth the District Apostle visited Pagadian congregation on Friday, 29th July and ordained a Shepherd. In Ozamis also a District Evangelist for Zamboanga City and an Evangelist for Misamis were ordained. The Youth ministry was strengthened with the ordination of a young Deacon.

Pentecost Sunday 12th June 2011 | 06/12/11

Makati Congregation was one of the many locations were by means of transmission via the internet the Chief Apostle Pentecost Divine Service was experienced life. 223 gathered for this blessed encounter. Despite various technical problems the message and word of the Chief Apostle could be built into ones heart.
“…come and let us walk In the light of the Lord” (Isaiah 2:5) was the word of greeting.
Let us walk in the light of the Holy Spirit. Let us step in, under the spotlight of the Holy Spirit, our hearts will be filled with divine strength and then we act. Not a “wait and see” attitude.
In the spotlight of the Holy Spirit we are led into the knowledge of what God has given us freely. What is behind us, is of no benefit anymore. Come and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

3rd May 2011 Board of Education founded | 05/06/11

To provide professional management of the various and challenging teaching programs a team of specialists have been appointed by the District Apostle. District Elder Depaz is the chairman of a board of teachers and educators who serve as volunteers to promote, organise and monitor the curriculum and faculty of NAC Philippines. In his opening address the District Apostle stressed the need to have qualified training in the church for Sunday School Teachers, Seminar Leaders but also a body capable to bring doctrinal subjects in an understandable format to all interested members. Faith is important and the priority in Christian life yet must eventually also be nurtured by knowledge. While prime focus is on our children also the Youth have special needs and to have lively congregations also in the next generations much more must be taught than just catechism and basic bible knowledge. Also the church community is facing more and more social problem which can only be overcome by education and here the church has a responsibility of spiritual formation. To coordinate this challenging task in the whole nation the following were appointed. Ev. Robert Muda and Sr. Susan Silvano for Luzon, Dc. Jerome Silorio and Sr. Flora Mae Catan for the Visayas and DEv. Freddie Nuyad and Sr. Anna Lyn Nuyad for Mindanao. We wish this board much blessing and joy in their work.
